Oakfield is one of my favorite places in South Georgia. I hope it will always be preserved.

I have always loved this building and about a year ago, I purchased it from the Harris family. The bank was built in the early 1900’s and was open only 3 years as a bank.
Within the next few months, my husband Harlan and I plan to open it as a combination antique/real estate establishment.
The truck that is out front is our work truck. Looks right at home, doesn’t it?

My parents recently purchased this property and plan to reopen it as an antique store. I think this is a really neat website and a great photographic history of our great state.

  3. This is such a noble building to be left standing alone by itself, much less seemingly abandoned. I’m sure there’s an interesting story behind it.
