Though in a rapid state of decline, this is one of the earlier outbuildings still standing on the grounds of the old Nolan Plantation. The chimney, made of locally sourced stone, is a good indicator of its age.

Brian, there is another building that we had surmised might have been slave lodging. If you go further down the road this and the store and the big house are on, there’s a building hidden in the trees…that’s it. Did you see it, by any chance? I’ve got pics on my FB. Thanks! Julie
