James V. Brannen writes: My parents, Prentice and Nola Brannen ran this store in the early 50’s when I was still in diapers and drinking from a bottle. Mother kept me in a crib to keep me out of everything.
My grandparents lived 2 doors down and as a kid in
the 60s i recall walking there all the time for candy. The parking area was covered with bottlecaps. If you know the name of the store please post.
I thought it was my Great Aunts store but I couldn’t remember the name. Hers was on a little street right off Hwy 341 after you go thru Jesus towards Brunswick. Glad Mr Brannen posted whose store this really is.

I am researching the Brannen family history in Jesup Georgia. My father also was James Vance Brannen senior and my brother is James Vance Brannen Jr. My grandfather was Alonzo Vance Brannen and known as Vannie. Vannie was born in 1899 and died in 1931. My father was his only child. Vannie’s parents were Alonzo Lee Brannen and Martha Rebecca kicklighter Brannen. I’m thinking we must be related somehow! I am the daughter of James Vance Brannen senior. Jayneen Alma Brannen.
