Carroll-Harbuck Farmhouse, Ben Hill County

Thanks to Carlese Carroll and Michele Finley for the identification. Michele writes: This is the old William Henry Carroll farmhouse. Guy Harbuck owns this home now, and his grandparents used to live there too. It was originally built by my Great-Great Grandpa William “Henry” Carroll. His brother-in-law, Henry Daniel Vaughn aka H.D. Vaughn (who was on the First Grand Jury in Ben Hill County on April 1, 1907) helped him build his house. GG Grandpa Henry Carroll lived in his house with his second wife, Ella J. Carroll, until he died of pneumonia on December 15, 1941. He was 87 years old.

Thank you so much for the reply. I actually typed my last name wrong. It’s Harbuck. My husband is Mack (Bucky) Harbuck. I am curious if there is any relation.

This home was owned by Claude and Halloween Harbuck. Their grandson, Guy Harbuck now owns it and rents it out. He lives in Atlanta now.

I’m glad you finally looked at my pictures Carlese! I thought I had a picture of Bethlehem, but I’ll check and see. Momma and Daddy said they knew some Harbucks, but they’re somewhat sketchy on them. I have got to call you…maybe I’ll see you at Relay for Life Tomorrow. Otherwise, I will call you SOON! Love Ya, Brian
