Blundale, Georgia

Flanders Grocery

This store and the house next door [pictured in the next post] are all that remain of the village of Blundale. It was known as Flanders Store or Flanders Grocery, according to David Flanders, whose grandfather Emory Hodges Flanders was the proprietor during the 1930s and 1940s.

Smith-Lumpkin House, Blundale

This is a great Georgian cottage, likely of 1870s or 1880s construction. A survey dates the house to circa 1915, but I believe that to be incorrect. Thanks to David Flanders for the identification.
