Located near Hartsfield, the Center Hill community is all but forgotten today and can only be found on the most specific maps. It never had a post office, but likely a store, as well as this school, to serve the nearby farm families. Dora Bates writes: I believe these are the remains of the old three room school house at Center Hill which I attended from first thru fifth grades.

Anna Rowley adds that her parents James and Eloy Murphy owned a store at Center Hill in the 1940s, Her sister attended the Center Hill School, which was originally known as Bay Pole School.
