In the milkweed family, Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa) is one of the showiest and most memorable South Georgia wildflowers. It’s not uncommon, but you have to know where to look for it.

Beautiful…does anyone know whether it can be cultivated and if it will survive as far north as Atlanta? Thanks
There are cultivars and I believe it occurs north of the Fall Line, so it would probably do okay in the Atlanta area.
