Amicalola is the highest waterfall in Georgia and the views from the top of the falls are some of the nicest in the southern Appalachians. My apologies for not sharing a full shot of the falls.

I have been to the top of this falls many times; the view is indeed spectacular. The pool at the bottom looks so small from up here! Amicalola Lodge is just around the corner from this view; my wife and I have enjoyed stays there several times. It has a nice restaurant (good food, reasonable prices, and a wonderful view of this valley!) and a gift shop next door to it. It is truly a treasure tucked away in the mountains of north GA, and well worth a visit. It is only about 17 miles west of Dahlonega (where we honeymooned, many years ago) on a scenic country road leading to Ellijay, in the heart of the Apple Country. I highly recommend both Amicalola Falls State Park and Dahlonega.
