Hall and Parlor Farmhouse, Irwin County

The Chinaberry trees (Melia azedarach) engulfing this board-and-batten house were once a common sight in the South. Their rapid range expansion, septic-damaging root systems, and reputation as an invasive have made them largely undesirable today. Still, they remain a popular icon of rural Southern culture.

This house was located on Crepe Myrtle Road.

Update: I believe it collapsed or was demolished by 2014.
