Thanks to Walter Hughes for identifying the location. His grandfather Willis H. James owned the store and he was born and grew up in the house right behind it. While I was in Argyle, a lady passing by told me that she grew up in the town and when she was a young girl, this store sold kerosene, live chickens, and everything in between.
The store in the picture is in Argyle, Georgia. The store belonged to my Maternal Grandfather. Willis H. James his house was behind the store, facing the railroad, I was born in the house in 1936.
