The 15 October 1953 edition of the Ocilla Star described this school, built with Minimum Foundation Program funds, as: Holt Elementary (colored): complete school plant with eight class rooms, one library, lunch assembly, office, clinic, two rest rooms, book storage and heater room.

Strangely enough, I went to Holt just over a week ago to get a few pictures of that school. I hadn’t been able to locate it until then.
It was completed in 1955. Through Minimum Foundation funds, Irwin got this, Mystic’s black school and additions/updates to several other schools in the county.
