This was originally the kitchen for a large log house that my father (James Edgar Fletcher, Jr. “Buddy”) was born in in 1923. The kitchen was moved a few hundred feet East along the original Tifton Ocilla Road that is the dirt road behind this house. The Tifton Ocilla Road used to make a sharp turn around the log house where it joined the Tifton Irwinville Road, now Pinetta Road. The log house was moved several years ago to the East side of Irwin County and restored. I haven’t seen the log house documented on this site yet, but I have a picture of it before it was moved and restored if needed.

Great photo Brian, Is there a name for this style built house, similar to my mom’s old house?
It’s really just “Cracker” style, Wendell, or just vernacular. Either term works, I believe.
