I’ll be posting a few images from my archives over the next several days, mostly of structures already lost or soon to be. This farmhouse, which I photographed in 2008, was torn down in 2010. It was the longtime home of Mrs. Estelle Barnwell Chitwood (1910-2007), who was a well-loved presence in the Pine Level community where my father grew up. She insisted on living independently well into her nineties and could usually be seen working in her small garden here.

That was my Granny ! There was so many of my memories made right there in that house and property. I miss these small towns and my family that still live all around there. I have been in South Carolina for 36 years and when I have that longing for home its here I think of. I’m definitely a South Georgia girl !!
Looks like my grandparents old place in Rebecca. Thanks Brian!
You really captured the spirit of the house and so much of what lived there reaches through. Beautiful Brian!
