Is the ?trash left by people living there? I see this so often in old abandoned places.
Reminds me of my friend who sold residential rental real estate in Midtown Atlanta before Midtown was cool. She would sometime tell her clients with a wink and a nudge “This one’s going to need a little caulking.” Seriously, this is worthy of preservation. It must be pre Civil War.
