Central Hallway Farmhouse, Tattnall County

This is located near Stoney Hill Freewill Baptist Church. It is a fine example of the form, barely modified but for well-blended shed room. It features sidelights, most common before the 20th century, and the diamond vents common in this section of Georgia. I would guess the house dates to 1870s-1890s.

A hydrangea still blooms, a testament to a time when the home was lived in. My grandmothers all loved hydrangeas and in the mid-1900s, they were almost expected in a South Georgia yard, planted more often than not at a corner of the house.
