Butler-McDonald House, Mitchell County

Timothy O. Davis writes: When I was in first grade (1961) this was the home of my teacher, Mrs. Eloise McDonald. It was a family home (Butler) and in prior years two brothers had built homes which were very similar in design, several miles apart. This one is located on the Bainbridge Highway, the other is located at the edge of Camilla, off the Old Pelham-Camilla Road. It is off the road, on the farm and not visible from the road.

Love what you’re doing ! I’m a native of SE GA GA and have always loved old edifices. So sad to see so many left to rot. It’s wonderful that you are at least preserving their images.

Do you have any old fotos of Waynesville in Brantley County ?

Where in Mitchell County is this located ? There is an old abandoned school located right off highway 97 in Hopeful, in case you are interesting. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Is the house occupied or vacant? I can’t tell.

There are thousands of similar houses all over South GA.

I do so look forward to your pictures. Thank you
