This landmark has changed hands over the years and though it’s presently closed, there are hopes that someone will buy it and keep the tradition alive.
It was used as a set location for the 1991 film Dutch.
There have been three owners that have tried to make a business of it just since 2014. The ladies that ran a café out of it around 2015 had the best grilled pimento cheese and bacon sandwich….they did something special to their pimento cheese that made it a close second to Palmetto Cheese, (which is the best). One of these later owners had a historical scrapbook of the store dating back to the original Foster family in the mid 1800s. Sure would like to know who has it…it make a lovely donation to the Cave Spring Historical Museum just down the road
I believe there is a restaurant in the store now that may be just open on weekends.
