When I was stationed at Fort MacPherson I took “car hikes” to Fitzgerald and stayed in an old farmhouse deep in the woods, just outside of Fitzgerald. Fond memories of the drives from Atlanta, via the Pecan Orchard of the Perry Family (Perry was Senator? I believe). I also took car hikes to Highlands, North Carolina.
