There used to be several of those timber structures on that lot. I can’t remember how many. Three I think. There was also a watch tower there too. When I was a kid in the 60’s-70’s it was the Ga Forestry Commission
This structure “MAY” have originally been a railroad depot. It has the distinctive roof shape and window & door locations for depots common to the likely age of the structure.
No it was the TPO, (Georgia Forest Commission) also had a fire tower that we would climb at night!! I lived right across the street.
As I remember my uncle kept bees in the tower. His name was Herman Brinkley. There have been Brinkley’s in Homerville sense 1932.

This appears to be the old TPO (Timber Protection Organization) office at the intersection of Cogdell Highway and Highway 84.
