When I photographed in Woodland there were Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica) nesting in front of the post office and flying all around 1st Street.

My great aunt Annie Pound (1888-1967) was the postmistress here for many years. She was once walking there in Woodland when a car pulled up. The window rolled down and FDR asked her where he could find a Coca-Cola. Apparently he was going to or from Warm Springs.
