My grandfather was Joseph S. Morris. The farm where my father and myself & twin brother were born sat on the SW corner of HWY 30 and Old Stuckey Church Road. The property formed a V shape and continued along the HWY 30 towards Alamo to Bear Brach and the went south to the Scotland Road anf back up to the point of the V at HWY 30. The farm was sold to the Fulfords back in the 50’s or 60’s?

About 1980 and before, the old folks in the family told me Stuckey, Georgia, was named after my great-grandfather, Henry Taylor Stuckey, who founded it. I have a tintype of him.

I believe the first ‘postmaster’ was names “Stuckey” and tended the small Post Office which was located just on the southside of the railroad tracks “about 40 feet to the south” but has since been removed. It was a single room building [maybe 10′ x 10′] with the postal boxes across the center of the building. As a young child my grandfather Morris would walk me and my twin brother to church [Stuckey Baptist Church] each Sunday morning and we passed by this small post office. He taught Sunday School for over 40 years each Sunday.
