Kathy Johnson Dixon notes that this package store was established by Carl Johnson and is still owned by his son, Richard. One doesn’t encounter many old liquor stores like this any more and it’s a bit of a landmark.

My grand father was a Johnson. His name is Joseph L. Johnson. Any relations? He is buried at Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Richard Johson owns this package shop which was originally owned by his father Carl. Garfield and surrounding area is home and birthplace to many Johnsons Oglesbys and Gays. He is bound to be kin to some of us.
