On another post about Foskey’s, a user wrote: Back in the day, Oak Park had a reputation for being a “rough place” and we used to tease my dad when he would go there to get his hair cut — “Daddy, you’d better make sure he knows how to do stitches as well as cut hair!”
My Great Uncle, Olin Foskey was the owner of this barber shop and sign. His sister, Dolly Foskey Duckworth was my Grandmother. Visited Ron Foskey, Olin’s son at the homeplace November 2, 2013. Ron told me I best get a picture of the sign because it was going up for sale. Sad.

Quite a bit actually, my Grandpa cut hair on half the male population in the county! The “drink box”, as he called it, saw a lot of use especially when all of us grand kids stayed over during the summer. That is just one of a few signs that he had.
This was my Papa’s barbershop. Many memories here. Sweetest man you’d ever meet. Loved God with his whole heart!
