According to Bill Kicklighter, the Anderson family who owned this home also operated a grist mill on an adjacent pond. It is one of the most important remaining houses of its type in Tattnall County, considering its unaltered nature.

June Flowers McMillan writes: “My mother, Carolyn Joyce Anderson was one of 11 children in the Luther Anderson family in Glennville, Georgia. This is the farmhouse they lived in. I have wonderful memories of the many fruit trees they had in the back yard and the water pump on the porch and the outhouse with the Sears Roebuck catalog next to the seats! Wonderful vegetables, tobacco, and cotton were grown there, and everyone worked the fields or cooked for the workers.”

Bill, I am a descendant of an Anderson family from Tattnall County. I am very interested in the history of this place and the family. Could you help me? twbaine(at)gmail.com
