Historic Commercial Storefronts, Georgetown

There isn’t too much left of Georgetown’s historic downtown, but these structures, from the turn of the last century, remain in good condition.

It seems that so much is gone in Georgetown, but one bit of progress that shouldn’t be a secret is Michelle’s Restaurant. My parents and I ate there on this trip (on a Sunday) and it was way better than your average buffet. Reviews on the internet seem mixed, but when were there it was wonderful. They had the biggest cathead biscuits I’ve ever seen, as well as the best rutabagas and fried yellow squash I’ve ever had at an all-you-can-eat place…they’re located right on Highway 82 heading toward Lake Eufaula and can be reached at (229) 334-5912.
