The historic marker at the church states: Organized circa 1829, the church was originally located at the home of Absolom Parrish and called Parrish Meeting House. Following a fire of the log structure on the Parrish farm, the congregation built a second log structure one-and-a-half miles west on the bank of Big Lotts Creek. The name was changed to Upper Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church. The current church building was constructed in 1881.
The cemetery contains remains of Revolutionary War Soldiers Henry Parrish, John Tillman and Civil War Soldiers Theadore H. Griffin, Zacariah Taylor Deloach and Robert William Deloach.
National Register of Historic Places

John Tillman is my 5th great grandfather. My line goes down through son James, son John, son James, daughter Lora who married Benjamin Hunter and had my grandfather Lorain Hunter who married Julia Lockley. They had my Dad. 🙂
My great grand parents Andrew Jackson Lee and Molly Nevil Lee are buried there along with my grandmother Lottie Lee Hussey. Her sister Ila Bird is also buried there. I believe several of her sisters are buried there.

My Great great great Grandfather (I think I have the number of “greats” right, but you get the idea) is John Tillman. I go by there every once in a while on my way home from Ft. Stewart. Beautiful church!
I also am a descendent of John Tillman. I think he was my gr gr gr grandfather also. I located the church several yrs ago and found his grave and the marker placed there by the DAR, but haven’t been back there since. Maybe I’ll make another trip there before long.
My gf and gm buried there. Collie or colly”?. NELLIE,his wife.
