Miley’s Garage, Berlin

Rebecca Hardy writes: I remember as a young girl going here to Miley’s Garage. My Papa Mark Miley ran his garage it this building. I would go there and get a quarter from him and then go across the street to Mr. Homer Mays store and get a coke and a snack. A coke and a snack for a quarter should let you know that was many years ago. Around 1975.

This definitely was Mark Miley’s garage in the 1950’s up until the late 1960’s at least. I am female, but I spent most of our visiting time in the garage while my cousin, Mark, talked with my father about mechanical stuff. I later dd some simple repairs on my own car.

Berlin, by the way, was Lens during World War II. And that warehouse looks familiar. I have not been in the town for years, but I do have a good memory of places where I have lived.
