Though it’s in its infancy, Vanishing North Georgia will follow the same format as Vanishing South Georgia, a site I hope some of you are already familiar with. I will continue to focus on out-of-the-way places and hope that this site will evolve into something useful to the backroads traveler and photographer. As I’m just beginning this journey, posts won’t be as frequent as they are on my other sites, but I hope over time to find much material to share. Thanks for visiting, and I look forward to sharing even more of our beautiful state!

Thank you Brian for starting your North Georgia site, particularly Wilkes County. Papa’s farm is long gone but was outside Rayle. To this day, when I think of heaven I see Papa’s place. Wonderful memories there and at my Uncles homes. I believe my two Uncles homes still stand but have changed in appearance. So much that was once familiar, particularly for me in Georgia is gone. You are keeping memories alive for many and providing a keyhole to the past for so many more. Vanishing perhaps, but not forgotten.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Brian. I have been hoping someone would do this! As I have said…a lot of our heritage above the gnat line is vanishing too.

I lived in Young Harris in 1988-89 and in Cobb County in the late 2000s. I know there will be much to discover! Thanks as always for your support and enthusiasm for my work.
