This wonderful bank stands at the corner of the commercial block seen in the next post. The mosaic brickwork is significant and is certainly worth preserving.

The bank closed this location when they built a new building across the street, which is not occupied by the City of Stapleton, (after the bank was acquired and closed.) My late father, Leroy Stapleton, was on the Board of Directors, and I always remember going to the old bank location. Mr. John Kilgore, the longtime President, passed away last year, and was a wonderful gentleman. The bank was robbed several times, as I recall, when it was in the old location.
The Bank of Stapleton survived the Great Depression but was acquired by a larger bank around the end of the 20th century, and the Stapleton branch was soon closed.
