Thanks to Peter Martin for the identification. He recalls a diner and auto parts store being located here and says there was a large peach or orange “sign” where the car wash is now located.
Harriet Harmon writes: My Grandfather Poole owned this station. Back in the 50’s many a tourist had their picture taken next to the “Big Orange”. Before I-95, this was the main route from NY to Florida & a very busy little place!

It was an
orange. I remember it vividly from my childhood.
Poole’s. as I remember, was a small diner and a auto parts store. Had a large orange or peach decoration on lawn to north, where car wash is now. Brother Fleming Martin could surely tell more than I! Peter
