Hello. I grew up in McBean. My grandfather was the Postmaster there next to the railroad on Highway 56 just north of McBean Creek on the line between Richmond and Burke counties. Sad that a tornado destroyed the post office on February 26, 1961. Our house had the roof blown off but otherwise survived.
Hi Brian, Great photo. What a simple but elegant building! I really like the 4 huge columns on front. Thanks for your efforts to help save in some fashion our great past. We stand on the shoulders of giants.
