This was the home of Dr. Ben White, an area physician. A servants house is located behind the main house and all the structures on the property are endangered.

If I am not mistaken, this is Dr. White’s old house. It has been abandoned for quite some time. I’m not sure it is still standing. There are other’s that live in Round Oak that could elaborate on its history. Mrs. Carrie Williams, author of The History of Jones County, was a White before she married. I happened to be her neighbor and fellow church member while I lived in Round Oak. Her home was a showcase, a beautiful old plantation home with huge magnolias throughout the landscape. I have fond memories of Miss Carrie and Mr. Carl her husband. I could go on and on. Those were the good old days.
