Jimbo’s Log Kitchen, Homerville

The Steedley family has operated this landmark, from tavern to restaurant to catering business, since the Great Depression. I don’t believe the restaurant is still open but it was famous far beyond Homerville. Travelers passing through this isolated town on busy US 84 depended on its good food and friendly atmosphere for generations.

I stopped there on time while I was active duty Navy and the owner was out in the parking lot and saw my base sticker and asked about it we struck up a conversation and when it came time for the check I was told it was free and thank you for your service. I was a little surprised and he insisted great place to eat.
