I photographed this church in 2009. I think it had already been abandoned at that time. The faux “stained glass” windows were what immediately drew me to the place. I’ve heard that it’s been torn down in the past year or so.
I don’t know what congregation it originally housed, nor if it began as a white or black church, but it made a lasting impression on me.
There has been quite a bit of debate as to the whereabouts of the church. Some say it was in Webster County and others say it was near the Randolph-Webster County line. Hopefully, I can confirm the location.

That church has been torn down for some time now. It use to sit in front of my road. Now that it’s gone I have a hard time going back home to see my family
We drove by the church soon after it was demolished. I gathered small pieces of the green wood and broken colored glass with the hopes of creating a small replica. We have a home in Shellman, GA and drove by the church often. I miss it.
Did you ever make the replica, Marge? I’d love to see it. I miss that church, too!
Hi! This church was actually in my driveway. It has been torn down by someone whom the lasting members of its congregation allowed. The church originally belonged to Reuben Jones, if I remember correctly from what my husband has told me. Reuben Jones was the first Jones in the area of my husbands family. He lived from 1796-1860 and owned most all of the land in the area the church is on and on down 41 for a few miles. It was given to a black congregation to have church there. However, it has been abandoned for years and was falling in at the time they decided to tear it down. Hope this helps give some insight! 🙂
Very helpful, Caitlin. Thanks!
Brian, we ran across this church in Randolph County when we were searching for a cemetery. It was still standing and looked abandoned in Oct. 2013. We visited Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery at that time and were looking for Mount Pleasant Cemetery (also called Adamson Cemetery) which actually led us near Glen, GA. I think this church was near Beulah Baptist Church in Hillabahatchee, GA; we got out and looked at the grave markers in a cemetery out in front of this church. Did not venture too near the church itself; didn’t know what might be inside. Betty Hester Smith,

I believe the church was in Webster County. It has been torn down.
Thanks, Carol. I never was exactly sure as to the location. I think it was out in the country near Parrot. Thanks!
