My gr-gr-gr grandfather, William Garner Strickland was from here. His wife, Lucinda Sintha (Bunn) Strickland was most likely from around here as well. They were Cherokee and spoke Cherokee. I wish I could learn more about them and this area.
This building was in fact, a voting precinct until the construction of the volunteer fire dprt building. I voted in this building in the very early 1980s while residing in the old Hardin House in Downtown Dyas Georgia.
