
Walking around the commercial area of Palmetto, you quickly forget you’re in the most populous county in Georgia.

The historic structures are concentrated on Toombs Street and Main Street.

The architecture is very typical turn-of-the-century commercial design.


Thanks for this rich collection of vernacular architecture. And, for providing the dates of construction. I wish I lived closer to the documentary repositories. I can envision a study of store sizes and usage over time. Oh well, maybe in my next life. Meanwhile, keep them coming.
