Is this the home of Grady and Lyla Sumner? I think it was located by the Grice House/ Grice Inn. Both built by John Robert Grice. John was my great grandfather.
No. He and his sons built the Grice Inn in 1906 while they lived on their farm on Cedar Creek, near Donovan. They were going to live there but in 1907 turned it into a boarding house for students of the Nannie Lou Warthen Institute. As far as I know John Robert Grice never lived in either house. I think the Sumner house was the residence of my grandfather Norman Grice and his family, which included my father, Robert Melson Grice. I think the Sumner House has been torn down, but not sure.

This is very near the Grice Inn, Dale. I’d love to identify the house. Did your great-grandfather live here before the Sumners?
