I think my dad, Elmer Dill, was the last Principal of Midville High School. I was in the 8th grade and loved our year at Midville High School. Caroll Dill- Soooo many good, nice people. So tickled to see the picture of the original school! Warm memories!
Construction began in 1928 by using federal CCC funds locals built the elementary wing and then completed the high school wing by 1940 with a gymnasium, craft shop and a beautiful auditorium. MHS was closed in 1965 by white resistance to racial integration. Rufus Cross was the primary longtime school bus driver during the school’s existence and assisted in its construction. He had a formal 5 grade education,
