Meeks was not mention in Johnson County. It had several stores a turpentine still ,post office and Tyson print works did the paper before moving to Swainsboro. Lamar and Lowell Shepherd had a store and dance hall. Rastus Mimbs ran the other store back in the 60’s. Nothing left now except the old service station and dance hall where they sold BBq
