This curious structure has been a landmark to me when traveling from Marshallville toward Talbot County for many years. It’s in the Garden Valley community. I’d love to know its purpose. I made the photograph a few years ago but I believe it’s still standing.

It could be a “hoosegow”! (A place to lock up argumentative help until they sober up.)
Probably not, but it was a thought.
We had similar structures in Maine, but heavier and made of brick. They wer isolated outbuilings for storing gunpowder.
What an unusual structure. Not that large, but high-ceilinged and obviously built off the ground to keep the contents from getting wet. Wonder of it could have been a small tobacco barn or food storage shed? I’ve never seen one like this before.
I thought it might be a tool shed or pack house.
