This typical turn-of-the-century storefront is located on Muckaloochee Street, near the train tracks. I consulted a history of the community but was unable to identify the structure.

MUCKALOOCHEE ST………now there’s a name with character !
There looks to be a stream in Smithville with the same name…assume the stream may be the namesake of the street.. Also assume this word could probably be traced back to the Muscogee/Creek tribal era in this part of Ga.
Old stores like this one probably carried most anything the small community once needed….lantern wicks….shoes…lard…..kerosene….etc. May this building live on for yet another century.
Thank you.
