Built in 1948, and purchased by H. R. Wiggins in 1960, Turner County Stockyard has kept up with the times. By 2009, with sales of $30 million, they were the largest cattle stockyard in Georgia, and remain a vital part of agribusiness in the state.

The bell tower of the Turner Co. Courthouse is a later addition. I have a largee print with a heavy border and back of probably all the white men in the city standing on the steps. Five of my relatives are in photo. One moved away in 1924 to FL. Another is my grandfather who eloped to Sycamore with my grandmother the spring of 1924. He married young and could have still been liviing with his parents in Cordele, Crisp Co., so I am wondering if this photo was taken right after they married and before his in-laws moved. I also have photos of his in-laws home in Ashburn of the style you called Victorian possibly one story with the dormers in front, All have been scanned.
