Community Theatre, Norristown

Though it was active during the “Golden Age” of American movies and movie-going, this little theatre is proof of not only the medium’s popularity, but the desire of even isolated rural communities to provide entertainment for their citizens.

My grandparents lived in Norristown so I visited regular as a child. I went to the theatre once with one of my cousins…I think it cost a dime to get in and the film broke several times. I have a lot of good memories of Norristown.
