    My name is Marcia Verna Durden Hughes. My father was Mallary Vernon Durden and was from Norristown. My grandmother was Nettie Durden. I would visit Norristown often when I was young.

    Brian, I grew up there, and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of history that has been recorded. I even checked with John Derden at East Georgia, and he didn’t know of any. Did you get photos of the abandoned warehouse as well?

    I am glad I have found this website. I have several accounts on the history of Norristown. I live there now, in the house that belonged to Mr. Norris Durden, who was my grandmother’s uncle.
