Georgia Sweet Onions…. WOW! They have all the rest beat. We grew them in the Snipesville, Georgia community but back then the Madison Avenue type marketing was not used. Most people grew them in their gardens for personal consumption. They tasted the same, sweet and pungent but no special hype was made. We loved them so much until our family made sandwiches. We slapped some salad dressing on two pieces of white bread and then included a couple of thick slices of sweet onions. They are a Georgia Treat that can’t be beat.

Yeah, Georgia folks know about Onion Sandwiches! I suspect others might frown on the idea, but it’s hard to beat a fresh Vidalia Onion!
