Your posting about Denton farm caught my eye. My daughter’s second great grandparents, Elias Moore b. 1850 and wife, Frances Eleanor Meeks, are listed as living at Dentons, Ware, Georgia, District 1026 in 1880 census. I think that was in or near Bickley. I thought Dentons was a town, but when I googled it, your posting about your father living at Denton farm popped up. In 1900 census, they were living at Bickley, Ware, Georgia, still in Dist. 1026.
Were there more than one of those Denton farms? I wonder if our Elias Moore could have lived in that same house pictured in your comments. What years did your father live there?
A few weeks ago, we drove to Nicholls, Beach, and Bickley Georgia area to search for the 3 story plantation where Elias Moore and Frances raised their large family. Family says he owned hundreds of acres there somewhere. Lucy Moore Rd. and cemetery was named after Elias and Frances’s first daughter, Lucy Moore. The village of Beach seems to be located on Lamar Bennett Trail which intersects Lucy Moore Rd. but the 1910 census says they were living at Waycross and Douglas Rd. in Beach, Ware, Georgia. We have been unable to locate those roads on any map. We had an old picture of the house, but it was lost years ago. Do you know anything about this Moore family and the exact location of the old house? I think their son, Lonnie Moore, was the last of the family to live in the house and he died 1971. It may not even exist anymore.
I would appreciate any clues. Thanks so much.

I quit researching my family shortly after this post. I’m taking it up again.
My grandfather lived on Denton’s Farm until around 1945. This Denton family were all girls. She was a single school teacher and her husband wasn’t around. Not sure why. They only had daughters older than my aunt and uncles.
My great grandfather lived nearby. His sister married into the Wildes family; He was related t the Wildes who were massacred in the Okefonokee Swamp by Native Americans. The cabin at the park was put there by that family.
Their daughter married Cecil Renzo Moore. Not sure if he’s related to your Moores.

Hello Dora and the people who you are talking about is my great grandparents my grandfather was Charles Moore and his mother and father was Lucy Moore maiden name Lucy Kirkland and she married Charles W Moore who father and mother was Elias and Frances but the house that you are looking for is a driveway next to Camp Nicky and before named Lucy Moore Rd it was Waycross Douglas highway I was told along with many stories growing uplol if their any questions I can help with just ask

Our Family Homeplace looked almost exactly like this…in 2003 my husband and I returned to my home and started a restoration process which included additions to the original structure. We moved in to the home in 2005!! If I can figure out how…I will post pics!! We live near Axson, Georgia (other nearby towns are Pearson and Douglas).
Always the old pecan trees around these homes, this is almost the same design house that my Grandparents lived in South Ga., they stood proud for over A hundred years!
