Brian, “Co-Cola” signs seem to be everywhere. When growing up in Jeff Davis County out in the country at Snipesville and Denton, we associated the name with all soft drinks. At the country store, when you asked for a “Co-cola” you would be asked, “What kind?” “Do you want an Orange crush, RC, or a Coke? In my day, no self respecting South Georgian every called a “soft drink” a “Soda” or “Soda Pop.” Cherry Co-Colas, and Vanilla Co-Cola floats were the rave of the day back in the ’40’s and 50’s.
