
Vidalia’s downtown still has quite a few historic storefronts, and many are still in use.

The black front on the building just left of center is Vitrolite, an increasingly endangered Mid-Century Modern building material that’s most often seen on theatres and jewelry stores.

I loved going to the Vidalia Bakery as a child. I remember it so well.
They had the best brownies ever.
My grandparents owned the Vidalia Bakery on Meadows Street from the 1940s (?) through the early 1970s. It was the 5th store front, not counting the corner building (and the street light pole is kind of in front of the store). So many memories…
