I’ve been shooting this house for years as it’s a landmark near my family’s church, Pine Level. It was a tenant home on the Neil Swanson farm. I always expect it to be gone, but somehow it holds on.

John Mike McCall writes: “Neal Swanson was my grandfather and I spent many of my days on this farm. I remember when the laborers on the farm lived in that house. After it became uninhabitable we used it to store hay bales in during the winter. I have played around that house for many years and even caught catfish in the watering hole in the back. There used to be two houses in that area but as you say, it vanished years ago...”

Somehow, with the foggy weather the house looks like it is in better condition than your 2010 photograph. I do love the image–looks really nostalgic. Thank you for sharing.
Brian, I really enjoy the pictures and information you send me.
Thanks a big bunch, Ginnie B
