Hall-and-Parlor Cottage, Lockhart

An old, abandoned house partially obscured by bare trees and overgrown vegetation, with a brick chimney and a rusty metal roof under a clear blue sky.

The front of this house is all but gone and it sits immediately behind another structure, but I wanted to share it in hopes of learning more.

I love all the old farm houses I see when I travel around. If at all possible, I stop and take pictures, mostly in SC. I was unfamiliar with the term “vernacular” house. This one is very intriguing since it seems to have 2 chimneys. I always took that to mean that there was more money available as that would mean a separate sleeping/living area, right? Is there a window near the chimney?
